02 Warden’s Report Welcome to our tenth Journal. During the 10 years of its publication, the Wykeham Journal has defined and developed how the school is perceived both within the community and internationally. The story has unfolded within the pages of our yearly publication. I would like to pay tribute to our Guest Editors for their in-depth and, it should be noted, impartial look at the school, through the five wonderfully varied, personal stories that each has contributed. In December 2017 Jeremy sent the following tweet about Bill Hodges (Coll, 1935-40): ‘I love this obituary in my old school’s magazine. He landed at Normandy on D-Day, helped liberate Belsen, married the man he loved – and finally decided to live by the name he’d always wanted.
