Other fundraising and development income, which is available for more immediate use, increased by £150,000 to £835,000, in part because of some initial receipts towards the Kingsgate Park development. Ignoring bursaries, total expenditure was 4.7% higher at £28,227,000. This was planned and in line with the College’s budget. In particular, more was spent on the school’s buildings and facilities, through a planned maintenance programme for our buildings, and on IT, including upgrades to the existing 2017 2016 network and installation of campus wide Wi-Fi. £’000 £’000 A sharp eye is kept to ensure costs are controlled. Whichever version of the numbers yo u choose, you will not find much in the figures about the two things that have played a large part in my thinking over the course of the year: Barton Farm and the Kingsgate Park development.
