Alternate dates are chosen for a variety of reasons. For example, this year World Book Day was on Thursday 7 March 2019 in the UK and Ireland. This date came about after consid- ering the dates of religious holidays, school terms and potential conflict with oth- er charitable activities. Celebrations take place all over the world to recognize the magical power .
