WA MEMBER SPOTLIGHT : Vanessa Couchman
Vanessa Couchman ’ s career has always involved writing in some form , but she started writing fiction after a long gap when she joined Writers Abroad in 2010 . She already wrote a blog about life in France , Life on La Lune . Initially , Vanessa wrote short stories and flash fiction and has had successes in creative writing competitions . A collection of her short stories set in France , French Collection , will be published in November 2017 . She turned her hand to writing novels after a few years . The House at Zaronza was published in 2014 . A second novel , The Widow of Corsica , is now complete . She is working on a World War II sequel to The House at Zaronza , and many other ideas jostle for position in her head . Vanessa has lived in Southwest France with her Swedish husband for 20 years and has a love-hate relationship with the internet .
