WRITERS ABROAD MAGAZINE: THE THIRD SPACE
She flung herself on the table, burying her head in her hands. The blood created
vein-like lines on her skin. She looked up, briefly, through feline eyes.

Alex woke. Tubes came from his nose and arm, his throat felt like sandpaper.
'God almighty, what happened to me?'
The police officer called for a nurse. After she checked his vital signs, she nodded
at the officer.
'Mr. James, do you remember anything?'
Alex's eyes narrowed.
'I remember her eyes. I loved her beautiful, green eyes. How could they change
like that?'
The officer shook his head.
'Anything else, Sir?'
'We were in bed. She was thirsty. I went to get her a drink. Her voice was so
cold. I love you, Alex, she told me, please believe me.'
