I’ve been writing and reading since I was a child.
However, I only took myself seriously as a writer when I
reached my forties. I suddenly realised that I was the
only one who could make ‘it’ happen, if I wanted to
write I had to make space.
When I moved to Italy in 2007, I missed the
encouragement of my local writers’ group which had
fuelled my midlife decision and so I wrote a cry for help
in Writing Magazine. And now, Writers Abroad is the
first place I go for support and advice with a group of
talented people who have become virtual friends as
well as fellow authors.
I write under the pseudonym of Louise Charles – the second names of myself and
my very understanding husband, Simon. Louise self-published her debut novel, The
Duke’s Shadow in March 2014.
