BY ORDER OF THE
KING OF STORMWIND
FOR THE ALLIANCE!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Coffers overflow. The
basement of the Dwarf’s inn is
knee deep in coins. He has long
since stopped trying to contain
them in any orderly fashion.
Ships depart. The forces of
the Alliance are splintering,
attempting to counteract
multiple concurrent threats
of dubious actual danger.
Tables tremble. Gnomish
busboys move in an intricate
dance between tables, refilling
drinks, oiling hinges, sweeping
up dust and settling arguments
about card interactions.
Pandaren drinks are all but
forgotten by Azeroth’s populace.
Though none of them can quite
direct anyone to it, citizens looking
for a good time know just one
place to go: Stonebrew’s Inn.
The Dwarf takes a moment to
survey the chaos he has created.
From the bar, his watchful eye
can identify the general trends
in the winners and losers, the
metagames being acted out
in front of him. Every so often
Valeera or Jaina will have
an epiphany with regard to a
specific card interaction, and
they will dominate the game for
weeks on end. Allegiances are
forgotten here. Heroes forget
their oaths and direct all their
efforts to perfecting their decks.
His experiments with dark
enchantments have been a
resounding success. His power
has attracted the attention of
an underground network of
sorcerers, one of whom recently
invited him to a business meeting
in his floating necropolis. This
world Stonebrew has created
is good. It is a world of his own
design. A World of Hearthstone. ■
