One can find an analogy between how Adriana
Molder creates her series and how film directors
prepare their next production. Allusions to
dreams, memories and illusions, the so-called
world of shadows and smoke, are constantly
present in her portraits.
In her own words about her technique:
“My drawings are done in washes of India ink on
transparent tracing paper, using a technique of
my own invention, in which I work on the floor
and put to use the unexpected effects of that
technique (blotches, undulations on paper, etc.)
as integral elements of the pieces. In recent
years, I started working with acrylic paint on
loose canvas. This change of support and the use
of colour, together with the fact that with acrylic
paint I can continue to work on the floor
and make use of wash as I did
in my paper works,
