Q & A
wants another profession . He has two specialties and aims to study longer , which is strange to me . I think about what Siddique said and it ’ s clear that they have less stress . We saw a change of formations , huge systems , and the country as a whole . Many of our parents have seen the end of World War II . So , from generation to generation we say that our children are not like us , and it was more difficult back in our day . Our parents have difficulties indeed , but the new generation of young people live easier . I also think that the world never lived as well as it has the last 25 years , speaking globally , about the whole world . I mean , the world never lived so well . Naturally , the global sense of responsibility has reduced in current generations , since they experience more stability and safety . We are talking about a civilized world , about our children . They are more protected , have more opportunities . When I graduated from school , some of us studied in Moscow , in MSU for example , because we were sent there like being sent to space . My colleagues from Kazkommertzbank know that . Now our children study in universities , which are in the top 10 , and we are proud of it .
I communicate with my son and , you know , I think they are just different , that ’ s it . Regarding the young people we work with – they are also different . They catch on more quickly , yes , maybe they are less resistant to stressful situations . But again , the world is changed , the world situation is different . Maybe , they do not need such large stresses , but they think more quickly , that ’ s for sure . About what Eldar said it being clear that we were involved in such things as Pioneers and Komsomol , but our children now have many other options . I always say to my colleagues : “ Give to young people more ”. When you communicate with young people , you need to understand that you also learn from them .

On the other side , there is a minus . The new generation takes things more easy . Maybe , when we were 20 , we also took everything easy . When you are 20 , it may be easier for you to take a loss because at 25 you can restart , build something new , and by 30 you will be even farther . When you are between 40 and 50 , you don ’ t want to lose what you have . That ’ s why we go to the bank with a project , and we know the responsibility to creditors , as Marat outlined it ; and whether we feel this responsibility or not , we ’ ll be called to account by modern instruments very quickly . So , the younger you are , the easier it is to start all over again , but with aging it is more complicated . I believe , with life dynamics , the spiral is sharper and faster . Eldar is right , today the younger generations ' brain absorbs more quickly , they take in more information , and I think , if frankly speaking , we have to learn from them rather than teach them . This is my opinion .
We have a new youth project we try to insert ourselves in . Recently , the My Café was opened on Furmanov Street , lots of young people are there . I communicate with them , and they are different .
Armanzhan : Indeed , there are conflicts between fathers and their children , whether we like it or not . Maybe we do not understand everything our children do . I can only tell you about myself . In our company , we are happy to accept young people , work with them , wanting to cooperate with them and knowing that they are faster , more ' pumped ' and have new vision . The main thing is that their ideas in this world really work . So , we need to involve them , we really need to .
It is a concern though that compared to older generations , young people are less focused . Perhaps , the things that amuse them are not like what we had , and maybe that gets under our skin . But , here I disagree with Eldar a little , that because of social media and computer games people have become introverted , more closed . Or perhaps I was just lucky , but in any case , I saw that the young people who are coming now , on the contrary , are open , they want to relate well . The popularity of Instagram speaks for itself . They want to show themselves , collect “ likes ”, do something , and have communities In any case , they are quite socially active , which means they are not closed . These are open-minded people , very sociable , with active positions .
My next question , as we are talking about your children , your family , and touching upon the topic of balancing life and work , is : I think for you getting to where you are today was about dedicating yourself to work throughout life . However , all of you , I know , have families and children and you actually invest in this part of your life as well . How do you do it ? How do you keep life and work balanced ?
Armanzhan : Good question , very complicated and part of life . I will not refer to any other experiences , only tell about mine . We , my wife and I , created a family when were very young , 20-21 years old . We started business at the same time , and our child was born early . Just last week we celebrated the 25th anniversary . And my first priority , of course , was work , without any balance . Frankly speaking , I never even thought about needing any balance . Perhaps because of this , we slightly missed the parenting of our eldest son . This , as I can now see , was my big strategic mistake . Only in the late 1990s I began to understand that there needs to be
