North Station (Paris)
Gare du Nord is one of the seven stations of the French capital and the largest in Europe. The North Station was built in 1846, but
already in 1860 it was rebuilt due to its small size. As a result, Jacques-Inyas Hittorf built a stone building with cast-iron floors, the
facade of which resembles a triumphal arch, decorated with sculptures, symbolizing European cities. Currently, the station has 44
platforms, but two of them are closed for public use. After the planned modernization and expansion of the Gare du Nord is quite
able to take the palm from the Central Station in New York – the project involves an increase in platforms up to 77.

пользования. После планируемой модернизации и расширения Гар-дю-Нор вполне сможет отобрать пальму первенства у Цен-
трального вокзала в Нью-Йорке - проект подразумевает увеличение платформ до 77.
