As the CSI is site specific, the
reduced or comparative CSI was developed
to enable comparison across contexts
(Maxwell, Caldwell, and Langworthy
2008). The rCSi is based on a subset of
only five questions (see Table A4) and has
universal weights. These questions are
based on coping behaviors found to be
applied across many countries. The rCSI
reflects food security nearly as good as the
CSI (Maxwell, Caldwell, and Langworthy
2008).
