Woodbury County Fair 15 New in Old Town for 2016 Dan Kirk: The Juggler with the Yellow Shoes: Looking for a show that is fast paced, exciting, and super FUN? Old Town is happy to host 'Dan Kirk: The Juggler with the Yellow Shoes' - as seen on America's Got Talent! Dan's stage shows are packed with juggling, comedy, clowning, and even some audience participation. He will be with us Wednesday, August 3rd - Saturday, August 6th performing two stage shows per day under the Old Town Gazebo. Dan's shows provide entertainment that will captivate the whole family. When he's not doing a show you can find him providing roaming entertainment throughout the fairgrounds while stilt-walking, making balloon animals, or demonstrating another one of his many talents. Kenya the Trick Zebra is BACK! - Western Iowa Telephone is bringing back Kenya the Zebra and his owner Jared to visit us again out in Old Town on Friday, August 5th and Saturday, August 6th. Here is your chance to see a Zebra up close. Kenya not only loves to interact with people, she also performs more tricks than any other Zebra in the U.S. Stop by to catch one of her performances or just to say Hello! Net or Wet Basketball Shoot-Out - Grab a partner and come on out for some old fashioned fun. Lets shoot some hoops! Old Town will be hosting the 'Net or Wet Shoot-Out' on Sunday, August 7th beginning at 12:30 p.m. This will be a double elimination tournament. Two teams of two will shoot against each other. One player on each team will be the shooter while the other player patiently awaits his or her fate sitting beneath the water bucket lingering overhead. The team to make their basket first will win the bracket and stay dry -- at the same time the basket will trip the opposing team's bucket causing one of the opponents players to get soaked and in turn move them into the loser's bracket. Tournament is open to all ages with no age division of play. Partners can sign up in Old Glory Dance Hall through Saturday, August 6th. Players must find their own partners. All skill levels welcome, this is just for fun as long as you are willing to chance getting soaked. Boyfriends/Girlfriends, Parent/Child, Siblings, Friends this is your chance to settle the score! The County Fair Chorus - If you like to sing in a choral setting, please join us for the County Fair Chorus. The chorus will be under the direction of Denise Knaack. Rehearsals will be held in July on dates to be determined per response to this invite. We will prepare approximately 15 minutes of uplifting music in the modern choral tradition. We will perform in Old Town at 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 7th. If you would like to participate please call 712.375.5388 by July 1st to enroll. What's Bussing Behind the School??? - This year marks the establishment year of a Pollinator Plot in Old Town. We will be developing a small plot North of the School House for our friends, the pollinators. This area will be seeded to various native plants that are beneficial to bees, butterflies, and other native pollinators. The first year the seeding will be done and weed management will be being performed to see to it that our planting gets off to a good start. We will be providing some informational material on how to start your own pollinator garden! We will also have some educational signage and plan to have a make it and take it workshop geared to helping our pollinators.! It may not look like much the first year or two, but we plan to plant a few potted native plants to give you a good idea of what to watch for in the coming years! Barn Quilts of Woodbury County - We are continuing to add to our photo display of the many barn quilts that can be found around Woodbury County. The display is located in the Old Glory Dance Hall.
