So when King Hussein of Jordan was
sitting reading his copy of The Flyer
Magazine he said to his friend “I am
simply not enjoying this outside space
what am I to do?” The answer? Call PJ
Harper Landscapes!

are celebrating twenty
years in business. This is
a huge achievement in a
competitive industry. The
company set up way back
in the late 1990’s by Philip
Harper.
PJ Harper Landscapes offer a wide

Philip is extremely hardworking and

and his team to

this expertise was learnt from the arid
conditions of the Middle East and
Philips amazing story of King Hussein
of Jordan.
Just over twenty years ago Philip
Harper then a resident of Trimley
St Mary had the once in a lifetime
opportunity to work in Jordan for
the Royal Household. Philip worked
in Jordan for two years on various
projects including not just gardens
but hard landscaping and garden
structures. Philip remains friends with
the Royal Household and is due to fl y
out for a month’s consultation shortly.
I met up with Philip and he said “This
was truly an incredible experience. I
met and worked with some amazing
people who I’m still friends with today.
His Majesty the King was very good to
me and we would often chat late into
the night, he was a very good man.”
Philip continued “Having found this
opportunity I wanted to learn as
much as I could about the culture,
history and the countries peoples. I
still today put a slight Middle Eastern
twist in many of my designs. I feel
if I can make their garden design
a little different it will enhance the
value of their property and give them
something unique”.
