May Spiritual Corner { “. . .let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” -Ja mes 1:4 “When will it be my turn?” Have you asked that question to yourself, recently? In the age of social media, it’s easy to see (glimpses of) other people’s lives and feel the need to compare ourselves to them. It’s really not necessary. As I’ve said many times, I believe this life is a gift. We should cherish it and make the most out of it! Instead of trying to measure up to someone else, we should appreciate what we have and stay motivated to reach our own goals. Even if you’re not currently flourishing in your career or enjoying a healthy and stable relationship, I know you still have something to be grateful for! Years ago, I had a conversation with a close friend about life. He asked me if there was anything that I wished I could go back and change. As I thought about it, he said, “We know that God has a plan for our lives. If we sit and wish that we could change things, that’s almost like telling God that He made a mistake or didn’t know what He was doing.” I had never thought about that before! I’m sure that we all have dealt with a variety of situations and emotions. . . from happiness to sadness and confusion. There were probably days when you weren’t even sure how you should feel. When dealing with hard situations especially, it can be difficult to imagine that anything positive can result from them but it’s possible! If you don’t get anything else from these words, I just want to encourage you to practice being happy and grateful for your life! The MESSAGE version of Philippians 4:12 reads, “I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands } empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.” Regardless of where you are in life, you can choose to be happy- simply because God is with you! You can be encouraged because He will never leave or abandon you (Deuteronomy 31:6). He has a plan for you (Jeremiah 29:11) and Romans 8:28 tells us that all things will work out for our good! Success does not come overnight. So whether it’s learning to love yourself more, executing business ideas or boldly approaching new opportunities. . . just allow God’s Will to be done in your life. Study His Word and don’t forget about the power of prayer. Rest assured that what God has for you, is for you. If something is in His Will for your life, nothing will be able to prevent it from happening. You won’t have to manipulate or force things. . . In the meantime, choose to LIVE! Learn from your experiences, grow from them, and then share your wisdom. You’ll become a better person for it. Let things happen- in His Time! “I’m taking each moment as if it’s my last. Don’t wanna rush my lessons, no. Embracing my future; learning from my past. I’m counting all my blessings. . . Oh oh oh.” Free Your Dreams- Snarky Puppy with Chantae Cann.
