Soror Gregory took a stand because she knew there was something better for Chicago. Although she may have only started with a couple of people, she will continue until the violence ends. Gregory is just one of the many that care about their community. She understands that we need to begin to love one another and stop committing crimes on each other. We need to take the time to address the issues and social determinants that may be leading to crime, poverty, unemployment, gangs, and education. Learning to love ourselves and love our community is a major step in reducing Black-on-Black violence. Yet, we also need to develop many more creative ideas to tackle the social determinants that exist in our community.
