American-born artist Naomi VanDoren Watercolor & Digital Painting Naomi grew up in the spice islands of Indonesia. Her early immersion into a variety of cultures and a childhood of travel has left her with a lifelong desire to continue exploring the globe, and a vivid imagination for worlds unknown. After moving to Japan in 2013, she took up digital painting and her passion for creating art blossomed. Her work revolves around imaginative worlds, epic fantasy environments, and visual storytelling, and she is often inspired by a location or feeling embodied in an area she has visited. Many of her paintings include small figures contrasted with immersive landscapes to emphasize scale and to develop the story. She currently works primarily in digital painting and watercolor, but is always exploring new methods and mediums, looking for novel ways to immerse her audience and transport them to faraway worlds. She is passionate about all aspects of life, and devotes a significant amount of time to travel, photography, and writing in addition to her art. Her paintings reflect this deep desire to explore not only the world she lives in, but the ones that are not yet invented as well.
