Lia Kaderoglou, artistically known as Aqualia was born in Athens, Greece and since 1999 she resides in Thessaloniki. She has been painting from an early age; a self -taught artist. She pursued a demanding and complex professional path with post graduate degrees in Special Needs Education and Counselling with 25 years of experience in the field. Then somehow few years back, she tried the Art therapy experience. This experience led to a lot of art making processes working with children in the Pediatric hospital of Thessaloniki (her current job). This rich experience with children has transformed her personal expression. A shift of style coincided with her experimentation with marbling inks on canvas combining media like balsa, acrylics, sharpies, metallic elements, natural objects. Her art is characterized by a whimsical naivety, vivid colors, and a dreamlike fluidity that acts as a sub-context.
