american artist Kim Testone Acrylic I’m drawn to ordinary or nostalgic objects and places and try to uncover something special about them. Although I aim to paint with a high degree of realism, I try to also create compelling or surprising painting compositions that make me, and hopefully others, smile. I think it’s important that people feel a little bit of peace and contentment every day, and I hope my paintings help people to appreciate the simple things around them. Since I began painting professionally just a few years ago, I try to paint several small pieces each week, constantly pushing my technique and speed so I can grow toward creating more complex and detailed pieces. wom en ART page 28
