American artist Sarah Hinnant abstract modern I have a Master’s Degree in Experimental Psychology, yet have chosen to do with my life what I have always felt driven to do – create art. I am essentially self-taught, which I feel has aided the uninhibited creative process and allowed me to develop my own unique style. The vast majority of my artwork consists of abstract paintings, mountain landscape paintings, and realistic portrait drawings of people. I love to use bright, bold colors in combination with a variety of textures to produce artwork that is eye-catching, unique, and striking. I want my work to immediately catch the eye of the viewer when they walk into the space, but I also strive to balance this idea so that the viewer is not overwhelmed or over stimulated. When I create art, one of my goals is often to create a piece that evokes positive feelings in the viewer, and that stimulates thought and imagination. I want people to think about my work, and be drawn into the present moment where there mind can wander. Creating art has been a passion of mine since early childhood. I started drawing realistic portraits of people and scenes at age seven, and branched out to paintings in my teenage years. I love all things aesthetic and beautiful, and do my best to convey to others the beauty and excitement I feel when doing artwork. For me, art is therapy, art is love, and art is bliss. When I produce a piece that I am proud of and connect with, I feel a sense of peace and true meaning. wom en ART page 43
