Israeli artist Netta Ganor Acrylic o n canva s ABOUT THE ARTIST: I was born in 1979 in Jerusalem and grew up as a very artistic girl. At the age of 15, I contracted ‘Transverse Myelitis’ – a rare syndrome which inflated my spinal cord and left me paralyzed from the shoulders down. During rehabilitation, I taught myself how to paint with my mouth. In 2003 I was accepted to the International Association of the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists and became an Associate Member of the association in 2015. My art ranges from images of children and portraits to nature, animals, and landscapes. I take great pleasure in portraying intricate details in my paintings. I work primarily in acrylics and often employ bold colors in a way that captures the colorful, optimistic side of reality in a naïve- realistic manner. I see my art as something which allows me tremendous freedom to be creative and show the world that with all that has happened to me, I am “high on life,” full with hope and optimism and always see the bright side. I want to inspire people to believe that everything is possible if you put your heart and mind into it. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and an MBA in Information Systems and have a four-year-old son.
