ABOUT THE ARTIST: My venture into minimalism was an unconscious decision. At one point, my perspective shifted and found happiness in textures, minimalist composition, chaos-free captures of the world around me. Although I appreciate many artistic styles, I gravitate toward images that evoke sentiments of peace, quiet, tranquility, and calm. Much of my artwork is inspired by the ocean, Intracoastal, and local rivers. In Florida, where I live, water is appreciated and also taken for granted. There are constant political battles with pollution and the willingness of politicians who allow the contamination our waterways for financial kickbacks from large corporations near Lake Okeechobee. We are known for our beautiful water so it’s as ironic as it is disappointing that we don’t do more to protect it. My photography doesn’t often reflect the negative aspects. In lieu of photographing the pollution (although I do often collect it at the beach), I like to focus on the beauty that nature holds in all of her original glory. ART 25 pag e
