Wellness & Lifestyle Expert Karen Sievwright It’s What’s Inside That Counts I used to have very low self-esteem. I wasn’t the woman people are used to seeing leading a packed Zumba class. And do you know why? Because I had terrible skin. I used to be in a position that required me to be in front of people. Imagine me in a ball gown, walking across the stage to hand out award trophies to the biggest names in the home building industry… hiding behind a pound of makeup and praying those lights were not making things worse for the cameras catching it all on the big screen. It was awful. While I was dealing with a face I wanted to hide, nobody… not a single doctor or skin expert said “Hey! Did you ever think this has to do with what’s going on inside your body?” Not one. Even if you have perfect skin… first of all, I’m super jealous, but ask yourself if you have ever had any of the following: • Bloating • Gurgly, gassy stomach especially at night • Poor sleep • Mood swings • Desperate for some caffeine • Low energy • Lack of motivation • Fluctuating weight • Brain Fog • Frequent colds • That feeling like something is simply off I know for me the skin issues were just what I could see. There was way more happening inside. When I reflect back, I am grateful it happened or I might not have found the determination to keep figuring out what was going on inside. If you said yes to even one of the items on the list, consider this… beauty comes from the inside out… from our souls to our cells. I made the decision to focus on digestion and detox so I could begin the journey towards the most amazing me possible. You can too. It’s the reason I now run a Whole Body Detox program focusing on the digestive issues women don’t like to talk about. When I took care of me from the inside out, not only did my energy improve, my mood, my life, my digestion, but my skin too. People don’t realize how important digestive health is. There is no magic pill or fad cream that will solve our problem. Change happens when you decided to be the one to take charge of you.
