Looking back to my childhood I always loved helping people . I had a natural knack for leading , organizing , motivating and inspiring others as well as problem-solving , which are all qualities that are necessary to run a business . Being a business owner was always a dream of mine , and that dream became a reality in June of 1989 .
I am still as passionate today as I was 28 years ago when I started my business . Because of all the experiences I have encountered over the years I am a much stronger and more confident woman today .
As Founder and President , I am proud of the success of my company , Dust Queen Maid Service . I was the only employee when I started in 1989 and today I employ a staff of 50 plus . Dust Queen has evolved into the Dust Queen Group with three divisions – Residential Cleaning ( Dust Queen Maid Service ), Commercial Cleaning ( Knight Clean Commercial Service ) and Dust Queen Carpet Cleaning .
Dust Queen has grown into a large , successful maid service and is a multi-award winning company . I ’ m proud to say that we have received the Consumer ’ s Choice Award for Business Excellence every year since 2004 . I am also incredibly proud for being nominated in 2014 for the Alberta Women Entrepreneurs ( AWE ) award , as well as winning the Consumer Choice Award for Business Woman of the Year in 2011 .
It takes a team effort . I am so proud of all my employees – they are incredible people who work hard and are committed to the company mission of helping people every day . They take pride in their work . To be part of something that is about helping people and making a difference in their lives is an incredible feeling .
My success is due to my passion for personal and professional growth , perseverance and strong work ethic . I ’ m driven to be the best , to be leading edge in the cleaning industry and to continually grow and expand my company .
