In September, 2013, I made
the decision to cut my losses
(intense split ends) and be
‘original’. I got a bob cut. It is
only recently that I have
actually fully accepted it and
kind of prefer it to long hair.
When I made the cut, no one
else had short hair at my
school, and very few celebrities
under the age of 60. All the
girls had long flowing locks,
and were, well, kind of
mainstream
with
their
fashionable dip-dyes. Now, it
seems like everybody has the
same idea, and is cropping
their hair. The first person I
recognised to get a bob cut was
Tavi Gevinson, Ali Michael,
then Lily Collins, Beyoncé, and
suddenly, there was barely any
long hair in the celebrity
department.
Now, I thoroughly doubt I was
the source of inspiration for
Hollywood-especialy living in
the corner of the world (a.k.a
New
Zealand),
I
think
something
has
stirred.
