THE KIDDIE GOURMET

Pizza Company,
which I call the
Comic Café, takes me back
to when I was a kid who, ev-
ery summer, had a lemonade
and comic book sale in front
of my house. The two com-
ic books I got here for my
grandchildren, Disney Prin-
cess and Miraculous Ad-
ventures of Ladybug & Cat
Noir, were two I never had
in my collection, of mostly
Little Lulu and Archie An-
drews. Also here, besides
the menu for those under
ten, you may purchase a ran-
dom superhero mini figure
for $4.00.

in a smokey Sweet BBQ

and Grilled Onions on our
homemade roll.” There was
as much quality as there was
quantity.
Dad chose the Monster
Steak Hoagie ($12.00). We
swapped some tasty bites,
preferring our own choices.
His was written up as a se-
rious meal for a serious per-
son and consisted of grilled
seasoned steak topped with
grilled green peppers &
onions, lettuce, tomato,
Swiss/American cheese, and
topped with wild sauce on a
fresh-baked Hoagie Roll.
The Fantastic Four word search
and connecting the dots in Spiderman
should keep the kids busy, without re-
lying on their screens. Plus the posters
and Darth Vader figure and other decora-
tions should attract attention. All kinds
of seating accommodate everyone. Gourmet
pizza selections
included
nine
choices, all having
a cleverly writ-
ten
description.
The Masterpieces
says that it has
everything but the
kitchen sink. That
would include tomato sauce, mozzarella
cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, banana
peppers, green peppers, black and green
olives, Italian sausage, and onions. We
did not expect such a plethora of selec-
tions, including Chicken Wings, Bone-
less Wings, Burgers & Sandwiches,
Salads, Hoagies & Sandwiches, and
Starters. One I remember is the Famous
Chicken Bread ($9.00), grilled chicken
breast, blue cheese, provolone and Par-
mesan cheese topped with hot sauce all
on homemade bread and toasted to per-
fection. This, like many of the choices,
are great for sharing.
Our friendly waitress delivered our
food selections on huge platters. The
burgers and sandwiches all come with
the crispy fries (the seasoned kind). The
burger toppings are free, so that you
can load your choice. I selected The
Big Bad Wolf ($13.00). The description
read as follows: “These 3 little pigs can
run but they can’t hide. Fried Smoked
Ham, Roasted Pork, Strips of Bacon Many conscientious diners will find
all kinds of daily specials here on lunch,
pizza, and wings. Most of the selections
are what I would term the best versions
of themselves. The fried dough sticks
certainly made the honor roll of desserts.
We left with satisfied stomachs and smi-
ley faces. If you don’t live on Grand Is-
land, it’s worth the trip over the bridge,
with or without kids!
When
it
comes to food,
kids can choose
an entree, a side,
and a drink, for
$5.00. For $1.00,
they can add on an
ice cream sundae.
The entrees are
Mac & Cheese,
Slice of Pizza: Cheese, Cheese & Pep-
peroni, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, 2
Chicken Fingers, a plain Cheese Burger,
or a Cheese Quesadilla. Sides are French
Fries, Tater Tots, or Apple Sauce. Drinks
are milk, apple juice, varieties of soda
pop, ice tea, or lemonade.
