jalapeno — a hot touch.
Skooby Crack’d Corn ($8.99) was
Dad’s choice. The innovatively surpris-
ing dish was, according to the menu
description, blackened corn, crumbled
bacon, jalapeno peppers, red bell pep-
pers sweet butter sauce, and mozzarella,
garnished with scallions. A side of torti-
lla chips were good scoopers. Although
described as blackened, the corn was
bright yellow.
Adding to the French fries’ popular-
ity is the Poutine, topped with Cheddar
cheese curds, house blend cheese, and
gravy ($8.99). Canadians, be proud!
Soups and salads don’t disappoint.
Always present is French Onion ($5.99)
Desserts, not on the regular menu,
that day included vanilla cheesecake,
chocolate cake (with or without flour),
and truffles in two varieties: chocolate
and peanut butter. Hoping for some in-
tense peanut butter flavor, I ordered
these. Alas, I don’t think I would have
guessed these to be peanut butter, just
chocolate truffles, with a scattered top-
ping of peanuts bits. I do love chocolate,
but I was expecting peanut butter.

Reflecting on the total experience, I
would say that the village of Lancaster
has produced a grill that is affordable
and noteworthy for plenteous portions
and tantalizing tastes.
