The Brick House likes kids , judging from its Brick Kids menu for those 10 and under . After selecting one of the main course dishes , each $ 5.00 , kids can draw a dish in the pan on the fun sheet . They can also find the words that help to get cooking in the kitchen , and play Tic-Tac-Toe . The kids menu choices are Grilled Cheese , two mini sandwiches with American cheese , served with fries ; Chicken Bites , crispy fried chicken tenders with fries ; Kid ’ s Sliders , two sliders with fries or tots ; Mac & Cheese , cheesy & creamy shells ; and Kid ’ s Brunch Plate , one egg any style , brioche toast , bacon and a strawberry . This last one is reserved for Saturday and Sunday . The evening we visited there were quite a few kids in what looked like a very popular place , with seating arrangements for various ages . My only complaint was the lack of a coat rack .
The adult snacks , favorites , plates , burgers , sandwiches , pizza , and salads — even sides and sweets — list calories , for better or worse .
My choice was Duck Wings ($ 11.00 ), served crispy , with brick sauce , cilantro , and siracha dressing . Although that delicious dish was an intimidating 1,330 calories , I ordered dessert — Chocolate Bourbon Cake ($ 6.50 ). The bourbon seemed lost in the chocolate , vanilla ice cream , and caramel sauce . It ’ s a good thing that Dad shared this 910 calorie dessert . The other choices were Apple Crumble and Ultimate Brownie .

I chose as a side the Sweet Potato Tots . I ordered as an extra the Hard Cider Apple Slaw . Two of the other additional sides are Cheddar Mashed Potatoes and Thyme Potatoes . I thought the slaw was one of the best items .
Dad , a . k . a . Grandpa , was drawn to the Lamb Burger . When it comes to lamb , we both prefer an assertive taste ; this was rather mild . Of course , beef was mixed with the lamb , which was further flavored by goat cheese , pesto red pepper , aioli , pickled red onions , tomato & arugula . The arugula rendered this burger especially tasty ($ 12.00 ). The French fries weren ’ t quite as good as the tots . Tater Tots have certainly come a long way from the school cafeteria ; many upscale restaurants are featuring them .
The Snacks , from which I ordered my wings offered other tasty appetizers , such as Deviled Eggs , Smoked Sockeye Salmon , and Mozzarella Bricks . The Bricks ($ 9.00 ) are more creative here than the standard fried cheese sticks served elsewhere .
Chicken turns up in some innovative dishes , such as Thai Chicken Salad , Chicken & Waffles , and Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich . Another choice of mine for another time would be the Prosciutto Wrapped Meatloaf ($ 14.00 ) made with ground chuck , veal , and Italian sausage , with sweet chili ketchup , mushroom gravy , and choice of side . The Wild Mushroom Pizza ($ 11.50 ) was another contender for our choice , with mozzarella brick cheese , baby arugula & goat cheese cream . The specials on the chalkboard are worth considering for even more variety .
This fun and flavorful place is a national chain , so check their web site for their Amherst location menu . We are considering visiting again for the weekend brunch , served Saturday and Sunday until 2pm .
