This year’s theme “Warm up with
a Good Book” will officially kick off in
mid-January with the help of a Buffalo
Sabres Hockey team
player. Winter Reading
runs through March
15. All 37 of the Buf-
falo & Erie County
Public Libraries and
the Library on Wheels
bookmobile will have
dozens of winter-
themed and age-ap-
propriate fun programs
and activities. Best of
all, everything is free
and library cards are
free (for all ages) for
those who live, work, or go to school in
Erie County.
What can you expect from Winter
Reading 2019? Infant, toddler and fam-
ily storytimes, book babies reading gath-
erings, rhymes and good times programs,
“crafterdays,” read alouds, finger puppet
plays, reading with an SPCA dog, LEGO
club, game labs, birdwatching, Siberian

Giant) at the Anna Reinstein Memorial
Library in Cheektowaga, and on Satur-
day, February 2 the SPCA Paws of Love
Therapy Dog visits the library.
Young Audiences of Western New
York takes to the stage on the second Sat-
urday of every month for themed perfor-
mances, entertainers, and workshops at
the downtown Buffalo Central Library.
