Meet out-of-this-world characters and build a science-fiction craft from noon to 2pm each day. Take pictures with a sci-fi character — such as an alien, robot, or astronaut. Journey through the museum and explore the Intergalactic Maker Space. Build a rocket out of recycled materials, create a rover to explore a distant planet, design your own robot friend, and more. Take inspiration from space-themed activities to create your own planetary craft. Then, check out The Strong’s Rock- ets, Robots, and Ray Guns exhibit. Back by popular demand, the exhibit explores the ways that science-fiction books, toys, movies, and video games have captured people’s imaginations and shaped the way they play. Play a giant version of the classic arcade game Space Invaders, check out the oldest toy ray gun ever cre- ated, direct a remote-controlled robotic ball through an obstacle course, launch a paper rocket into space, and more. Weekend events in August with spe- cial guests and themed activities include Rebels & Imperials (Aug. 6 & 7); Ga- lactic Warriors (Aug. 13 & 14); Cosmic Creations (Aug. 20 & 21), and Space Cadets (Aug. 27 & 28) Rockets, Robots, and Ray Guns will remain on exhibit through September 3, 2018.
