It ’ s not about the destination , but the journey . We invite you to join us for the only off – road overland trip that 307 Adventures has on the schedule in 2017 . This trek will allow you to experience some of Wyoming ’ s hidden treasures in your 4WD vehicle and gain firsthand knowledge what it would feel like to step back in time 100 years . In this Wild West setting it is easy to imagine the likes of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid riding over the very same land you will be driving on . Although this journey is not an extreme wheeling event , the experience of driving through beautiful canyons before heading into and over the beautiful Big Horn Mountains will be in your memories always .
Your journey will begin at the Historic Occidental Hotel in beautiful Buffalo , Wyoming , where several of the Wild West ’ s biggest names stayed and played . Icons such as Teddy Roosevelt , Buffalo Bill Cody , Tom Horn and Calamity Jane were frequent visitors of the Occidental Hotel . For those of you opting for the ‘ Gold Package ,’ your room at the Occidental will be part of your registration the night we are in Buffalo . * Because space is limited to only ten rooms at the Occidental , it is first come / first served for the ‘ Gold Package .’
Everyone attending will join us this first night for a very special dinner at the Virginian Steakhouse to kick off this overlanding adventure ! We will be given tours from the owners and staff of the Occidental as we are guided through the hotel after our wonderful dinner . The stories you will hear will make your heart beat a little faster and goosebumps may just appear on your arms . In the morning , we will all meet for a hearty breakfast at the Busy Bee Restaurant before departing for a day of amazing scenery as we make our way to the overnight camping location .
After our first day on the trail , the group will set up camp like the pioneers did . Dinner will follow the theme of our Wild West Adventure with genuine Dutch oven cooking . It has been said that meals eaten while camping somehow taste better … we hope you agree ! After dinner , we invite you to sit around the campfire and relive the excitement of the day with the group before retiring to your tent and listening to the night sounds of the wide open prairie .

Day two will be slightly more rugged as our travels will take us from the groomed trails through abandoned oil fields and into the two track path that will lead us into Thermopolis , Wyoming ( which in Greek translates to “ Hot City ”), to the World ’ s Largest Mineral Hot Springs . Upon arrival , our guests will have the opportunity to check into their hotel , relax for a bit before dinner or take a dip in one of the hot mineral springs pools to wind down after the previous days of exploration and sightseeing . The group will gather for dinner and then be able to rest up for the next day , which promises to have more adventure .
