WLM | my Wyoming craving WLM: Have you had a particularly memorable or unique experience while photographing Wyoming? CB: Every photograph is a memorable experience; it is a moment in time that you will never be able to go back to. The moment is gone, just like that: the lighting changed, the animal is no longer in the scene, the clouds are different, the wind caused something to move, the variables are endless. There are some photographs I have taken which I later learned were failures, moments I will never be able to recapture. Painful as each failure is though, I learned something new each time. You have to go out and fail, time and again, learn and then move on. Then there are the moments where I have taken the photo and the results exceeded my very own expectations. WLM: Many of your images are accompanied by a poem or saying you’ve created. What has inspired your writing? CB: My writing is an extension of my photography; it is my opportunity to express what I felt when I captured the scene or what I was feeling when I later viewed the photograph. Often times, my mind has chosen the words as I set up the shot.
