WSD Blood Drive
Back in 1975, WSD was fortunate to have a senior girl named
Susie Sinnen. That was the only year the old Health Center reports
a blood drive being held. It must have made quite an impression.
That same senior is now a Certified Nursing Assistant in the WSD
Health Center and is the coordinator of the blood drive that has
been held for the last several years at WSD. Mrs. Susie Kelly
collaborates with the Student Body Government (SBG), who
volunteers to help at the event each spring.
Our youngest donor
was senior Anna Dorst,

were very comfortable,
and even had big smiles
for the camera.
The results from the Blood Center of Wisconsin were more than satisfactory.
There were 36 people who registered. This includes students, staff, and
people from the community. Three of the 36 donations were deferred due to
low iron or because they were on medication. Three were also able to donate
double red cells. There were 17 first time donors and 17 repeat donors.
Susie Kelly extends her thanks to the Power
House staff for having the gym ready for use,
the interpreters for their help, the kitchen staff
for the delicious food for both the donors and the
workers and to the WSD SBG for their time and
generosity. There were many positive comments
about the polite and helpful students. Thanks to all
who donated and helped to save lives. For more
information, check the Blood Center of Wisconsin
