WSD Summer Camps
WSD was thrilled to offer two summer camps for elementary students this
summer.
The Recreational Sports Camp was lled with athletic skills, drills and
games. The ten students in the group learned and played most of the day and
went to a nearby swimming hole to cool off and relax.
The Outdoor Camp had a great week of activities planned for all twenty-six
students. However, due to the heat index reaching 100+ most days, things
didn’t quite go as planned. Monday, students started with a round of mini
golf in Lake Geneva. By the ninth hole, they had to stop due to the extreme
heat. They headed straight for the Fontana Beach. They also enjoyed time at
Ottawa Lake and the Timber Ridge Water Park at the Grand Geneva Resort.
On the last day, the group went to Busy Barns Adventure Farm in Fort Atkinson and then let loose at the Whitewater Aquatic Center.
Deaf students from Wisconsin had the opportunity to meet new friends and
participate in a week (or two) of great fun!
