WSD vs. Maranatha Baptist Academy
25-23, 25-15, 25-20
‘Dig Pink!’ was the theme for the game to raise money for breast
cancer research. Maranatha came with hopes of stealing a win from
the Firebirds to no avail. The Firebirds continued their domination
over Maranatha as they had in the rst game of the season. Alaqua
Cox continued her hot streak in serving with ve aces in the rst
match. Lyssa Matsche added six serving points while tipping for six
additional points. Kori Koss showed her setting ability with three
successful assists while tipping for seven points.
WSD vs. Grace Christian School
25-9, 25-23, 25-14
Grace Christian School was demolished by the Firebirds last time they met. Grace improved in this game
especially in the second game. But the Firebirds were
too strong for Grace to overcome. Katelyn Miller led
the team with eight serving points. Briana Robertson
had three passing assists. Anna Dorst added ten assists
and senior, Camille Kangas, contributed seven assists.

WSD vs. Oakhill Christian School
25-27, 20-25, 25-12, 7-25
Wisconsin went to Oakhill with high expectations
of achieving the school’s best record for a season.
However, Oakhill tempered Wisconsin’s expectation
by dominating the Firebirds. The team did not handle
Oakhill’s great serving well. However, Wisconsin was
able to challenge Oakhill’s spiking with twelve digs
each from Kori Koss and Ka Youa Xiong. Alaqua Cox
had 13 digs to lead the team while Anna Dorst chipped
in 11 more. Kori Koss continued to show her prowess
in tipping 11 points in the game.
WSD vs. Missouri School for the Deaf
25-10, 25-4, 25-12
The Firebirds went to Missouri and ruined the Eagles
weekend by beating them handily. Katelyn Miller had
11 service points including three aces while Briana
Robertson had three aces. Elizabeth Besaw assisted
with ve points. Briana, playing a lot in this game, had
four passing assists. Lyssa had eight setting assists to
go along with three tipped points. With six assists and
ve tipped points, Kori Koss demonstrated excellent
setting skills.
WSD vs. Oakhill Christian School 28-26, 16-25,
25-27, 20-25
In the Firebirds’ nal home game of the season, Oakhill Christian School ruined the good feelings to close
off the season. The matches were closely contested
just like the last time these teams faced each other.
Wisconsin came out on top in the rst game but lost
the next three. Lyssa Matsche led the Firebirds in serving with 12 points. Kori Koss tipped for nine points
in the nal volleyball game of her career. Seniors,
Ka Youa Xiong, Anna Dorst, Kori Koss, and Camille
Kangas bid farewell to WSD varsity volleyball in this
game.
