The Lady Firebirds opened the season with a win over Maranatha Baptist Academy in Watertown 3-2. Junior, Alaqua Cox,
began her rst season as a volleyball player with 23 points from
serves including four aces. The team worked together, especially in serving, with senior Ka Youa Xiong and junior Elizabeth
Besaw serving up 15 service points each. Setting up the hitters,
junior, Lyssa Matsche, had eight set assists to go with ten tips.
Senior, Kori Koss, contributed with nine tips and three kills.
Preventing opponents’ kills, Besaw and Cox had six digs each
to lead the defense against the Crusaders.
