Special Olympics Track
The annual mini track meet against Lakeland School was held on May 23rd. During the meet, WSD students and
staff came out in force to assist with the meet. WSD staff and students were given the roles of scorekeeping,
measuring, timing and refereeing the meet in addition to supervising both WSD and Lakeland students.
WSD high school students were recruited to team up with each Special Olympic athlete from both WSD and
Lakeland. They shadowed and assisted their athlete throughout the meet. Everybody had a great time. All
Special Olympic athletes were winners no matter how they performed during the meet.
