Girls High School Basketball Second Half Record: 1-6 Season Record: 2-13 WSD vs. Indiana Deaf JV 20-46 During the opening game of the CSSD tournament, WSD fell to Junior Varsity team from Indiana Deaf. Sophomore Anna Dorst led the team with 10 points. Amanda Feliciano helped out with 8 rebounds and 2 points. WSD vs. Minnesota Deaf 22-49 Minnesota easily dispatched WSD during the opening game of the GPSD Tournament. WSD was consistently kept under 10 points during each quarter of the game. Freshman guard Elizabeth Besaw led the team with 10 points. Senior #12 Amanda Feliciano and senior #20 Hannah Rees assisted the team with twin effect of 6 points and 5 rebounds each. WSD vs. Metro Deaf School 12-40 WSD struggled and fell against Metro in the second game of the CSSD tournament. Metro dominated absolutely. Senior Amanda Feliciano was in the charge of the team with 5 points and 9 rebounds. WSD vs. Ohio Deaf 38-31 WSD earned seventh place at CSSD tournament by defeating Ohio Deaf in a relatively easy manner. WSD led by 23-11 at half-time. WSD was able to hold off and limit Ohio’s resurgence in the second half with a 15-20 performance. Freshman Elizabeth Besaw was the star of the team with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Anna Dorst was the right hand lady with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Amanda Feliciano also excelled with 6 points and 15 rebounds. WSD vs. Union Grove Christian 18-39 Union Grove handily defeated WSD in this game, although the game was still close at the half-time with the score of 8-14. However, Union Grove pulled away during the second half with a 25-10 performance over WSD. Senior center and forward Amanda Feliciano led the team with 8 points and 23 rebounds. Sophomore guard and forward KaYoua Xiong was not far behind with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals. Spring 2012 - 16 WSD vs. Kansas Deaf 47-24 During the second game of the GPSD Tournament, WSD easily dominated Kansas to go for the consolation championship game. WSD dominated Kansas throughout the game keeping Kansas below 10 points each quarter. Amanda Feliciano was the star of the game with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Freshman #14 Elizabeth Besaw and Hannah Rees contributed 11 points each. Senior guard and forward Hannah Rees also had 11 rebounds. WSD vs. Oklahoma Deaf 19-40 Oklahoma took the GPSD Tournament consolation prize away from WSD by easily defeating the Firechicks. WSD was kept to single digits each quarter throughout the game. Senior #20 Hannah Rees had 14 rebounds while senior #12 Amanda Feliciano had 11 rebounds. Sophomore #22 KaYoua Xiong grabbed down 10 rebounds. WSD vs. Kenosha Reuther 43-51 WSD lost to Kenosha Reuther in a relatively close contest. By the end of third quarter, WSD was behind 27-43. During the fourth quarter, WSD valiantly fought back 16-8 but it was not enough to catch up and win. Freshman #14 Elizabeth Besaw led the team with 12 points. Amanda Feliciano was not far behind with 11 points and 15 rebounds.
