WSD vs. Union Grove Christian (Lost) 0-25, 6-25, 10-25
WSD Volleyball team had an eventful season. The season
record was 6-17, through not good, masks other exciting
things that the team went through. First, the team was
runner-up at the CSSD tournament and participated in the
Elkhorn Area high school Breast Cancer Fundraiser called
Pink Out The Gym Night. The girls spent time with the UW
Women’s Badger Volleyball team when Madison played
Minnesota. After meeting Bucky Badger they had a photo
with the UW team. Finally, Amanda Feliciano broke both
WSD season and career block records and was chosen to
be on both CSSD and GPSD all tournament teams. She
also received the Best All-Around Player award. Anna
McCartney won the Most-Improved Player award. Coaches
award was given to KaYoua Xiong.
WSD vs. Minnesota Deaf (Lost) 21-25, 25-12, 9-25
WSD Firebirds opened their volleyball season with a tough
loss to Minnesota Deaf. The ladies fought hard throughout
the game not giving up easily. KaYoua Xiong was the
star of this game with 11 service points and 13 service
receptions. Alexis Christ added with 13 sets and 8 blocks.

WSD Firebirds struggled in this game against Union Grove
Christian losing in three straight matches. KaYoua Xiong
had the only double digit statistic from this game. She had
12 serve receivings, in addition to her 2 service points.
WSD vs. Waukesha Christian (Lost) 12-25, 16-25, 12-25
Improving quite significantly from the difficult loss to
Union Grove Christian, WSD Fireladies put up a fight in
this loss to Waukesha Christian. Alexis Christ blossomed
into a leader of this team with 15 sets, 3 service points,
23 serve receivings and 5 solo blocks. Amanda Feliciano
played well with 7 attacks, 4 serve receivings and 10 solo
blocks.
WSD vs. Rock County (Lost) 13-25, 22-25, 16-25
WSD fought hard against Rock County Christian, not
giving them an easy walk away game. Hannah Rees
was the star with 20 sets, 2 service points and 11 serve
receivings. Alexis Christ was instrumental in challenging
the opponent with 10 sets, 2 kills, 2 attacks and 9 serve
receivings.
WSD vs. Ohio Deaf (CSSD) (Won) 22-25, 25-18, 15-8
With an exciting comeback, WSD Firechicks won the
CSSD tournament opener against Ohio Deaf. After closely
losing the first game, WSD won in a relatively comfortable
fashion the next two matches. Anna McCartney came out
of nowhere to be a shining star of the team with 23 serves,
8 service points and 6 serve receivings. Hannah Rees and
Alexis Christ helped out significantly with 4 and 11 serves,
23 and 17 sets and 10 and 13 serve receivings respectively.
