She meets Ruth in prison after being informed, a fine murderess is being held within the walls. Once she encounters Ruth, Dorothea cannot quite believe what Ruth is telling her. Dorothea has a factual mind, and struggles to believe Ruth’s tale of supernatural powers, murder and slavery. Dorothea and Ruth become embroiled in each other’s story. The tale twists and turns and leads to an explosive ending! Gripping plot, beautifully written and captures the lives of restricted Victorian women in a remarkable way.
