SILK RD LIVERPOOL LAUNCH PARTY Wirral-based restaurant Silk Rd has officially opened the doors of its new site in Liverpool city centre and Wirral Life were delighted to attend the launch party. Following the success of its original Heswall outpost, the business has now expanded to a location at Beetham Plaza near the city’s waterfront. The restaurant draws inspiration from the Silk Road trail, which spans three continents from the Pacific to the Mediterranean. The Liverpool site can seat 140 customers over 4,000 sq ft, including a mezzanine level ideal for private dining, an outdoor terrace with views of the city, and an in-house bar area. Owner Javier Mellado said: “Having first opened Silk Rd in Heswall in the summer of 2017, we have already gained an impressive reputation in Merseyside and are delighted to be opening our doors in the heart of the city centre. The location in Beetham Plaza fits the Silk Rd concept perfectly; a hidden gem within the city reminiscent of Greece or Spain. Being situated nearby popular shopping destinations in Liverpool and in close proximity to the city’s business district makes us accessible to everyone whether they are looking to join us for a business lunch or a meal with family and friends.” Owner Chris Williams added: “We have always had ambitions to open a second site in Liverpool and following the success of Heswall we are fortunate that we have been able to realise our dream so quickly.” 76 wirrallife.com
