February 1st- Astronomy Night Landmark Park- Dothan, AL
Join Landmark Park for an evening of stargazing on February 1 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Astronomy Night
is an exciting and informative program that gives visitors a view of several stars and planets as well
as the Orion nebula through telescopes and binoculars on the Gazebo lawn. Staff members will help
point out winter constellations and visitors will even get the chance to experience a “starry” hayride
and campfire. Nightwalks will take place on the boardwalk. Warm up in the Interpretive Center after
stargazing and enjoy snacks and a program in the planetarium where you will get the chance to learn
more about the night sky. Planetarium programs are not recommended for children under 5. Space for
the event is limited. Admission is $5 for members, $6 for scouts and their leaders in uniform and $8
for nonmembers and free for children 5 and under. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are welcome. As-
tronomy Night meets several requirements for the Astronomy Badge. Visit

February 2nd- Dulcimer Club Jam Session- Dothan , AL
Jam and practice sessions are held on the first Saturday of each month from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. in the
Interpretive Center. No experience or music reading ability is necessary. Participants must have a
mountain dulcimer. The program is free with paid gate admission ($4 for adults, $3 for kids, free for

February 8-9th-Landmark Park Quilt Retreat- Dothan,AL
Landmark Park’s annual Quilt Retreat, led by Sherry Burkhalter, will be held on February 8 from 5
p.m.-9 p.m. and February 9 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Ag Building. Cost for the retreat is $75 and
includes supper Friday, lunch Saturday, drinks and snacks. Our theme this year is miniatures. Minia-
ture does not necessarily refer to size. Rather, it relates to the scale of the block. You will have a
chance to see examples and choose your pwn patterns. Bring your sewing machines and supplies,
including 6-12 fat quarters (ranging from light to dark). Space is limited and registration and prepay-

Jukebox Saturday Night is a musical review of the great Big Bands during the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s.
Performances celebrate America’s Swing Era featuring the greatest hits recorded by Glenn Miller,
Duke Ellington, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Jimmie Lunceford, Artie
Shaw, Harry James, Les Brown, Woody Herman and many others. Featured performers of this
