PROTON Products InteliSENS® DG-k SERIES
Super-Fast, High-Speed Diameter Gauge
PROTON Products, the leading global provider
of precision measurement and control products
for the wire and cable industries, announces
its Super-Fast, high-speed InteliSENS DG-k
Series diameter gauge. This instrument
delivers exceptionally fast measurement
performance with scan rates of up to 10,000
scans/second/axis for outstanding product
quality supervision. The solid-state DG-k Series
Diameter Gauge provides dual and triple axis-
diameter measurement capability for accurate,
trouble-free, long-term reliability.
PROTON’s InteliSENS DG-k instrument uses eye-
safe LED light sources combined with high-speed
Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and a proprietary
optical bench for diameter measurement, control,
inspection and alarming during on-line production.
LED light sources cover the entire circumference of
the product for total product quality measurement,
inspection and reporting. Integrated air wipes ensure
the optical path is kept clean for continuous, accurate
measurement.
All of PROTON Products instruments are supplied
with intelligent, easy-to-integrate capabilities as
standard that feature a broad range of embedded
process interfaces. This includes Ethernet, RS-232
and WiFi communications with optional PROFIBUS,
PROFINET, DeviceNet, Industrial Protocol IP that
can be substituted for the Ethernet communications
interface.
InteliSENS DG-k options include an integrated PI
feedback controller for insulation line extruders and
capstan drives. An optional integrated lump and
neck flaw detection capability is available for single
measurement flaw detection (SMFD). A Fast Fourier
transform (FFT) analysis option helps pinpoint
the source of process disturbances for greater
productivity and reduced scrap. Finally, a Statistical
Process (SPC) reporting option helps monitor and
control the process to ensure that it operates at its
full potential with optimum product uniformity and
conformation.
