Three Teknor Apex Facilities Receive Vinyl Institute Awards for Worker Safety and Environmental Excellence The Vinyl Institute has presented three Teknor Apex Company facilities with Safety and Environmental Awards for 2017. The annual awards honor individual plants operated in the United States and Canada by manufacturers of PVC-related monomers, resins, compounds, and plasticizers, based on data compiled by an independent third party. The Teknor Apex compounding plant in Pawtucket, RI received an Environmental Excellence Award from the Vinyl Institute for “an outstanding track record for five consecutive years.” The performance is measured in accordance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants. In addition, Teknor Apex received Safety Performance Awards for its PVC / CPVC compounding facility in Jamestown, NC, and its plas ticizer additive plant in Brownsville, TN.
