This catalogue is your personal resource library for a variety of recreational opportunities within our community. If you have not yet experienced one of our programs or classes, I invite you to give us a try! If you have participated in our programs before, welcome back! There is no better time than right now to “Resolve to Get Involved”. We are gaining momentum with community volunteers and have just established a Friends of the Park program. Under the volunteer leadership of Napa resident Kevin Hansen, we now have a Friends of Westwood Hills Park. If you would like to become involved in any of the volunteer opportunities mentioned here, please connect with us www.cityofnapa.org/parksandrec for more information. Only through the generous, unselfish support of our volunteers will Napa’s park system achieve its full potential! We are grateful for all the people who come together to make Napa such a special place. As we prepare to welcome 2019, I am reminded of how much we have to celebrate in our community. Whether you choose to learn to play the ukulele, sign your kids up for Mini Warriors Basketball or join a volunteer effort to improve a park, “Resolve to get Involved” I’ll see you in the park! All the best, John Coates Director of Parks and Recreation int Speaking of getting involved, be sure to check out the enclosed articles about our volunteer programs. Recent initiatives with our senior volunteers have helped us sustain and expand programs at the Senior Activity Center. Eagle Scouts and Master Gardeners have brought tremendous improvements to the bocce court and rose garden at Fuller Park this past summer. We celebrated Arbor Day and National Public Lands Day on September 22 with 101 volunteers at Kennedy Park. Within three hours, we planted 168 trees, painted all the railings and steps at the skate park and stained 1,000 linear feet of new timber guardrail along Streblow Drive. 3
