Caving: Kees Cave Go underground and explore! This caving trip is great for beginners, mostly horizontal with some crawling. Learn caving safety, underground navigation and all about limestone cave formations. A suggested what-to-wear list will be provided upon registration. Ages 10+. Sunday, March 1. Depart GHPG parking lot at noon. Price: $39. Register by: February 13 Mother’s Day trip to Williamsburg Looking for a gift idea for Mother’s Day or a relaxing escape for you? Then this overnight trip to Williamsburg is for you. We’ll arrive in Williamsburg on Sunday and head to The Williamsburg Winery where we’ll have a guided tour of the vineyard and a wine tasting. After that it’s on to the hotel and then to dinner. On Monday morning we’ll venture to the Premium Outlets where we will do ‘our duty’ to boost the local economy with our shopping purchases. Our hotel has an indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center and a complimentary hot breakfast. Fee includes van transportation, vineyard tour, wine tasting and hotel accommodations. We will begin our morning at Thornrose House, a charming and historic 1912 Georgian-style brick home designed by renowned Staunton architect T.J. Collins. Next we will head right around the corner to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage. This romantic cottage is a smaller replica of the farmhouse where the wife of William Shakespeare grew up in England. It has a real thatched roof and brass rubbings of both William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway. Tour the garden as it comes into full bloom for spring and enjoy lunch in the Great Room. Register by: January 16 1966 Monticello Spend a day on the beautiful grounds of Monticello and get an intimate look at Thomas Jefferson. We will begin with a one and a half hour guided tour of Jefferson’s home Monticello. Get a behind the scenes look at this architectural icon and gain access to all levels of the home including the iconic “Dome Room” on the third floor. Please note: This tour is not handicap-accessible and involves climbing steep stairs. Afterwards head outside for guided Gardens and Grounds tours as well as the guided Slavery at Monticello tour. Enjoy lunch at the café at Monticello and check out the visitor’s center, museum shop, and many other exhibitions and activities. Ages 6+. Saturday, April 11.
