Hero for 2018’s Awareness Month,
honoring Landon’s brave battle
and celebrating his now being a
survivor.
In a special ceremony on
Wednesday, September 5 at
5:30 pm, the Mayor of the City
of Winter Garden will make a
proclamation to honor all fighting
children in support of Childhood
and Blood Cancer Awareness
Month. The exterior of City Hall
will lighted in gold for the entire
month, and the City will also be
passing out ribbons. The Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society and the
Mayor will present Landon and his
parents with a gift basket afterward.
Plant Street and the local shops &
vendors will also be in support by
donating proceeds to causes and
placing ribbons on their doors.
Following the proclamation at
City Hall, Crooked Can Brewing
Company will host a celebration
where the staff will wear gold or
dress up as super heroes to honor
Landon and all children fighting
Cancer – a portion of proceeds
from the evening will be donated to
the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
The overall goal of this event is
to help spread awareness about
childhood & blood cancer, to show
support to our local families who
are battling cancer, and to grow
the event annually, honoring a new
local hero each year. See you all on
