Illinois Shotokan Karate Club is Chicagoland ’ s premier karate school taught under the instruction of John DiPasquale , a fourtime National Champion , US National Coach and President of the US National Karate Federation . Beginner students may not register into the current session after the second class has met . Registration for continuers through advanced students will be accepted after the start date , but the full class fee is required . Uniforms and belt testing are options available through the ISKC instructor . The Youth , Parent / Child , and Adult classes may train together .
Pre-Karate | Ages 4-7 Young children develop flexibility , strength , and coordination in fun , yet disciplined activities . Youth Karate | Ages 8-14 Children are put in touch with their bodies and get a good mix of strength training , with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises . Participants increase their coordination , agility and poise , as well as learn lasting personal safety skills . Fencing | Ages 7-Adult Fun and competitive , fencing develops discipline , balance , coordination , and sportsmanship . Midwest Fencing Academy is one of the most successful clubs in the US with world class coaches who competed in the Junior Olympics and / or World Cup Tournaments . This class introduces fencing with games and fun . Wear sport pants and athletic footwear . Due to personal nature of the equipment used for fencing , the students will be required to rent a mask and a glove from Midwest Fencing Club during the first session . The students will be responsible for this equipment during the duration of the class . This means , taking this equipment home and bringing it back for the session and making sure it is only used by them . Each fencer will be required to pay $ 150.00 collateral fee for the equipment rental on the first day . This fee will be returned after the equipment is given back when the Fencing class is over .
