Finding that Foundation There are hundreds of different foundation and concealer types and tones for every kind of skin. A simple way to figure out which concealer you should invest in is to determine the occasion. Since this is prom you might want one with a slight heavier coverage. You want to purchase a concealer up to two shades lighter than your actual skin color. If you seem to have redness or purple under your eyes or certain areas of your face and want them covered do not apply a concealer unless it is green to cancel out the red or yellow or orange to cancel out the purple. An average concealer is made to act as a highlighter and is applied to specific areas on the face to enhance highlight points such as cheekbones. Now onto the Foundation. Once you have determined the type of foundation which best suits your skin type, you can carry on to find the best tone to match your skin color. A recommended way to do this is to take the foundation you choose and apply it to your jaw/ chin area. Blending it as best you can and see if the foundation matches well. For everyday use a light mousse or cream is best. As for prom a little heavier foundation is appropriate such as MAC or Photo Ready for example.
