WOrds from the
Board of Directors
W
elcome to the summer edition of
Windows.
The latest data released by AiG
points to a somewhat fragmented outlook
for the building and construction industry.
Non-residential building activity is expected
to remain subdued into 2016, but in contrast,
residential building activity is forecast
to remain solid into 2016 supported by
elevated approvals, low mortgage interest
rates, strong population growth and urban
transport infrastructure developments.
With this encouraging outlook for 2016,
we wish all of our members a very Merry
Christmas and a prosperous New Year, and
pass on our gratitude for the excellent work
the team at the AWA secretariat have done
on our behalf during 2015.
Please remember that it is that time of the
year again for AWA board member elections
in the north and south and Scholarship
applications. You will find information
regarding both inside.
