wo m e n i n w i n d ows Open the doors to opportunity bob carter Glass Skills Australia A job in the window and door industry is not a career pathway typically considered by women, but it is one filled with opportunity. With graduation fast approaching for Year 12 students across Australia, it is important to promote career options that female schoolleavers would not traditionally consider. Glass Skills Australia, a subsidiary of Registered Training Organisation Improve Group Learning Solutions (RTO #31506), strives to encourage more women to take advantage of the expansive career opportunities available in the window and door industry. Although the field remains male-dominated, Glass Skills Australia has worked with a number of women who are succeeding in a windows and doors career, and who, in some circumstances, are outshining their male counterparts. As this industry continues to thrive, so do the opportunities for women to succeed in roles covering all areas of operations. The women we have the pleasure of working with are passionate about what they do and want to encourage more women to join the industry. Sharing the success stories of our female Glass Skills Australia apprentices is a great way to promote the industry and boost the number of women in trades.Last year we worked with industry to do just that, through why the window and door industry needs more women the Women in the Glass Industry campaign.
